Coming to Century Dental, LLC, gives you the best options around when it comes to the dental technology that our office uses. No matter what needs you may face, we have the tools here to help.
Here is an overview of the different forms of technology we have as a staple in our practice so that our patients get the best care possible.
Our offices turn to digital x-rays to be able to find problems within your teeth that cannot be seen completely with the naked eye. Our dentists do thorough exams, but sometimes you have issues inside your teeth or within your gums that make it hard for us to see what's going on.
Digital vs Traditional X-Rays
Drs. Densley and Call talking about the differences between digital and traditional x-rays.
Taking a digital x-ray gives us an insider's view and lets us tackle any unseen issues before they become bigger problems.
Digital x-rays also give us the opportunity to see what is going on in a safe and immediate manner. Traditional x-rays were known to expose people to significant amounts of radiation, but digital x-rays use a mere 20% of the radiation, amounting to a safer experience.
Plus, when using digital x-rays, the dentist can see what is going on inside your mouth in a matter of seconds instead of having to wait for older films to be developed.
Ultrasonic Scalers
What is The Cone Beam and CEREC
When you come to our offices, the dentists at Century Dental will make sure your teeth get thoroughly cleaned. Part of that cleaning includes scaling the plaque and excess tartar off of your teeth. Traditionally, this was done with metal tools, applying pressure to your teeth.
This could hurt some patients, especially those who suffer from sensitive teeth. The use of ultrasonic scalers allows us to get the excess tartar and plaque off of your teeth with little to no pain whatsoever.
The vibrations caused by an ultrasonic scaler are barely able to be felt, even when the narrow tip slides between your tooth and gums. This leaves you with much cleaner teeth, without the pressure or pain often associated with scaling.
Once this process is done, your dentist will still give your teeth a once-over with the traditional tools, but only in the spots that still have tartar or plaque buildup.
Intra Oral Camera
Intra-Oral Cameras
To give the patients at Century Dental an insider's view of what the dentist sees, we now offer intra-oral cameras. These cameras look like glorified toothbrushes, and allow you to see the inside of your mouth in much the same way that our dentists can see it.
We can show you areas that are red or inflamed, starting to decay, cracked or completely broken, and more. This allows you to see what your dentist is referring to, and create a plan of action to take care of any issues within your mouth.
If you are looking for a dental office that offers the best in dental technology to keep your oral care progressing with the times, then give the dentists at Century Dental a call today. Take your oral care into the next century!
