Is Your Mouth a Prime Candidate for Dental Bonding?

If you are concerned about your smile and the way your teeth look, you may have heard about dental bonding. We can recommend this relatively simple procedure for many situations, and one of the advantages is that, in most cases, there's no need for anesthesia.
Dental bonding is also relatively inexpensive and quick and can be done in one visit unless we are treating tooth decay.
Who Needs Dental Bonding?
Dental bonding is a cosmetic procedure that we can do in our office for patients who need several conditions corrected including:
•
To fill cavities
•
To repair cracked teeth
•
In gum surgery
•
To adjust the shape of a tooth
•
To protect teeth with receding gums
When we do dental bonding, we get your teeth ready with a conditioning substance that is applied to ensure the bonding material, usually resin, adheres to the tooth. Then we apply the resin and shape it to match the rest of your teeth.
A laser light helps us to seal the surface. This process is very similar to filling a cavity, except you don't need anesthesia. After the material sets, we will give the toot a final shaping and polish to make it look like your natural teeth.
The entire process can take between 30 and 60-minutes per tooth, depending on the condition of the natural piece and can be done in one visit unless you have several teeth in need of bonding.
Dental bonding is one of the most inexpensive dental procedures and you can go home with a beautiful looking tooth or teeth. If you have concerns about the way your smile looks and want to ask us about whether you are a good candidate, let us know and we can give you the information you need to make the decision that best suits you.
